REACT Systems Expands Healthcare Industry Presence Via Partnerships with
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Seton Family of Hospitals
Company to Demonstrate Industry’s Most Comprehensive Critical Response Notification
System—REACT! Enterprise—at HIMSS 2008
Los Altos, Calif., February 19, 2008 – REACT Systems, Inc.™, the innovator and leader in delivering global Critical Response Notification Systems (CRNS) that unify vital actions in emergencies and time-sensitive situations, today announced strategic partnerships with two leading healthcare organizations, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and the Seton Family of Hospitals—further expanding its presence in the healthcare industry. Specifically, the company’s REACT! Enterprise™ was selected by these medical facilities—providing the industry’s most cost-effective, scalable and complete CRNS solution for fast, reliable communication to staff anywhere on a hospital’s campus to ensure critical messages are received.
“There is an increasing need to improve timely and effective large-scale communication for both emergency situations, as well as everyday needs in hospitals and medical facilities,” noted Maria Ligeti, chairman and CEO of REACT Systems, Inc. “Leveraging REACT! Enterprise, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and the Seton Family of Hospitals are able to alert staff to hospital codes, overflow warnings, severe weather updates and critical IT information notices, as well as reduce risk, vulnerability, liability and compliance concerns.”
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center was having difficulty communicating between the main hospital and outlying facilities, which could severely impact response during an emergency situation, and turned to REACT Systems for help. The hospital is a major trauma center in a large metropolitan area and sees every possible type of emergency. With capabilities of providing fast, reliable and even wireless communication to staff anywhere on campus, REACT! Enterprise exceeded Santa Clara Valley Medical Center’s needs.
“REACT! Enterprise allows us to get the right instructions to the right people—whether staff, police, or the public. It works on every communication device our staff carries—cell phones, pagers, computers—and it updates instantly to minimize frustration and miscommunication,” noted Peggy Albert, emergency management coordinator for Santa Clara Valley Medical Center of San Jose.
Seton Family of Hospitals
The Seton Family of Hospitals has a vast number of locations. They were in need of a fast, secure and easy to use emergency communication system that could be leveraged for all its buildings with critical emergency information. Seton had been using a previous version of REACT! Enterprise since 2006, and recently upgraded to the latest version 6.0, giving them a significant increase in customer satisfaction for its emergency rooms, especially when in over-capacity situations.
“During Hurricane Katrina, the cell phone networks and public phone systems were overwhelmed and we couldn’t get calls through to our building across town. This is one of the reasons that we purchased REACT! Enterprise, so we could have a reliable means of communicating when other means failed,” noted Matt Dick, director of Safety, Security and Emergency Management at Seton. “We have received good feedback during department meetings because REACT! Enterprise alerts are self-explanatory.”
At HIMSS 2008, to be held February 24-28 in Orlando, Fl., REACT Systems will showcase its REACT! Enterprise solution at Booth #4231 located within the Orange County Convention Center.
